IFC Model Cleanup

The LastBIM catalogs already contain clear requirements for the information to be included in delivered IFC models. However, many authoring software programs produce far more alphanumeric information than is actually required.

It would be possible to provide an 'IFC Model Cleanup' tool that filters out all properties not required by the current project stage (information level).

    My Colleague is currently working on a students-project that is about “slimBIM” and wants to achieve exactly this! We place this process-step in the scenario of a handover form construction to operations phase. Starting in the operationsphase it makes absolutely sense to only “carry-on” the information, that you acutally need and are willing to keep updated over the next 30 years.

    So with the “Model Cleanup” we could erase the delta of information that is to much. And with the IFC Studio’s information adding possibility i could order or enter myself the delta of information still needed. So with that thought we could improve this feature also to a “Information-Delta Manager”
