Copy Catalogs, IFC Export Fixes, and Revit Sync Warnings
This week, we rolled out an update packed with some Revit specific improvements and bug fixes regarding the parameter synchronization and the IFC export and a brand-new feature that many of you have been asking for:
💫 New: Copy Catalogs
You’ve been able to copy entire projects for a while, but we know that sometimes you just need to duplicate a single catalog from one project to another. Now you can!
When creating a new catalog within a project or standard, you’ll find a new option: "Duplicate an existing catalog." Simply select the project or standard you want to copy the catalog from, choose the catalog you need, and voila — it’s copied to your current project or standard, ready for any adjustments.
This makes it easier than ever to reuse and adapt existing catalogs without starting from scratch.

🪲 Fixed: Duplicate Property Sets in IFC from Revit
We had noticed that in some cases, property sets were being exported twice to IFC. This was due to the mapping of property sets to specific IFC entities AND the general IFC class “IfcProduct” in the same property set mapping file. This had happened when some of your specifications were mapped on IFC entities and others were not.
We’ve updated how the export file for property sets is generated to prevent these duplicates while ensuring that everything is only exported when necessary.
If you’ve encountered this issue in your project, please download the updated .txt file again and rerun the IFC export with this new configuration.
This update only affects you if you’re using IFC mappings in your catalog. Otherwise, the
.txtfile will work as before.
⚠️ Improved: Revit Synchronization Warnings
When synchronizing parameters in Revit, we’re now marking more changes in red to draw your attention to potentially critical updates.
Specifically, we’ll highlight in red any change where we need to recreate parameters and transfer existing data to the new parameters for synchronization. While we can recreate property values in standard elements, we’re still working on synchronizing more complex relationships where parameters are linked and we will have another plugin update soon!
Stay tuned!
