New Property Rules | IFC Studio Improvements

Over the last week, we launched some improvements, smaller features and bug fixes, especially regarding the property rules and the IFC studio:

🆕 New features

  • New property rule: Unique values
We added a new property rule that allows you to check with the LastBIM plugin / IFC Studio if a property has unique values within the selected elements.

  • New property rules: Contains
With this new property rule you can check if a property value contains a specific text so you don’t have to use RegEx for this anymore.

  • New property rules: Value must be empty
Some of you reported cases where you want to check that a property is empty. This is possible with this new property rule now.

✨ Improved:

  • IFC Studio: Import of multiple files at once
Now, when using the file explorer to open IFC models in the IFC Studio, you can select multiple files to import them at once instead of opening them one after another.

  • IFC Studio: Drag & Drop files or folders into the IFC Studio
You can now simply drag and drop files or entire folders into the IFC Studio to open the IFC files.

  • IFC Studio: Warning when leaving the IFC studio or removing a model
When you close the tab of the IFC Studio or remove a model, you will now get a warning that reminds you to save the new IFC file with the edited properties.

  • Revit IFC Mapping: Including Base Quantities is optional now
So far, the Property Set Mapping file for the IFC export from Revit always included the base quantities. This is now optional and has to be activated explicitly when downloading this file, so you won’t have duplicate base quantities when also exporting the calculated base quantities.

🪲 Fixed:

  • IFC Studio: Show the loading bar when a second model is opened

  • IFC Studio: Browser context menu disabled

  • Excel-Import: Import multiple classifying values for one property in a specification

  • Excel-Import: Import Revit parameter names and GUIDs

  • Information Levels: Deleting empty information level groups
